The Richmond Brain Tumor Support Group provides brain tumor survivors and their loved ones with many resources for support in Central Virginia and well beyond.

Support Group Meeting - April 13th - Tuesday

Our guest speaker is Janeen Shaffer, the proud daughter of Alan Shaffer, a support group member.  She journals regularly, practices energy work, walks, runs and practices yoga to keep herself balanced.   For her day job, she is a recruiting manager for Deloitte Consulting.  Here are a few words from Janeen about journaling, the topic of her presentation:

"I have been a journal writer for 20 years.  Journaling has been an incredible tool for me.  It helps me release fear, anxiety and concerns as well as capture my dreams and wishes.  It is an avenue of release for me and allows me to feel grounded.  Also, it is an opportunity to be a form of prayer, meditation and dialogue with a higher power.  I am workshop presenter on Journaling to the MD Outdoors Women Program - a program that teaches all ages of women about outdoor activities as well as techniques to help them take care of themselves.  I am developing a journaling workshop for caretakers to present to the public soon."
